The Dr W. A. Albrecht Scholarship is worth around $2000. It is open to people aged 18 to 25 years old, living in the USA.
Dr William A. Albrecht was a US-based soil scientist, who studied the link between soil fertility and human health. He was an emeritus Professor at the University of Missouri and served as president of the Soil Science Society of America. While Dr Albrecht died in 1974, his philosophy continues through the Albrecht system – an approach to soil science which helps build, balance and maintain excellent soil fertility to improve crop yield and crop quality.
Dr Albrecht’s granddaughter Anne Peret is patron of the scholarship.
